OUTREACH EFFORTS Transpitt is continually increasing its presence in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. We have made contacts at several local universities. In addition, there is an active association with PFLAG (Parents, Friends, and Family of Lesbians and Gays) and the Pittsburgh Transsexual Support Group (PTSG). If you would like someone from Transpitt to contact you, please call the hotline and/or send email. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Several of our members are willing to speak to classes or other functions such as church groups or civic organizations. We have participated at the PrideFest and believe in educating the public about transgenderism to help them accept our role in society.
Transpitt Board members Willa (l), Robyn (c) and Nikki (r) attended the annual Lamdba Ball held November 20 at the downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel. The Lambda Ball is an annual Black Tie event and attracts the movers and shakers of both the GLBT community and various city officials. Transpitt was supported financially in its early years by the Lambda Foundation and we continue to attend the event both as a means of thanking the Foundation as well as an opportunity to enjoy a formal evening of glitz and glamour!
