It's the start of the New Year and many of us did not haver the opportunity to celebrate as we would really like to do, so here is your opportunity to get dressed up to the "nines" and enjoy a festive New Year's Eve Party with good friends. We will have a raffle of a beautiful fur cape or two which are just so perfect at this time of the holiday season, so bring a few extra $5 bills to buy tickets. Proceeds benefit the Transpitt Office fund. Changing rooms open at 7 pm. $10 meeting fee covers the rent and refreshments. Wives and SO's free - no guests witout prior approval. TRANSPITT OCTOBER MEETING Saturday October 8, 2005 8:15 -10:30pm TV Vintage Style Night & Chinese Auction Many of our members have a taste for fashions from a different time period than what we wear today, maybe the kind they saw on television shows as they were growing up. Here is an opportunity to wear that “something special” and share your interest with other members of the club. There are those of use who love the disco-era “Saturday Night Fever” look. Others have a fondness for old 1950-60’s TV show moms like Donna Reed and June Cleaver (do you remember the single strand of white pearls?) or the hippie look of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, with mini’s and vinyl go-go boots! Or how about the glamour and sophisticated look of “Dynasty” or “Dallas”? Anyone have a pair of “Daisy Dukes”? It’s all for fun as we get ready to celebrate our national holiday at the end of the month, Halloween. As an added feature, Donna will be having a Chinese Auction for three vintage fur capes. Starting bid is $10 and proceeds to benefit the outreach program. Changing Rooms open at 7pm. $10 meeting fee covers the rent and refreshments. Wives and SO’s Free. September Back to School Meeting Recap Class was in session at our last meeting and we were treated to a wide variety of “back to school” images. Courtney was a perfect “Senior Class President” and Kathy was terrific as our cheerleader and led us in the Transpitt cheer. Natasha was stunning as our foreign exchange student from Germany and Kelly and Candis were cheerleader tryout candidates, while Donna was placed on probation as a wild biker-chick / Kelly Osborne look-alike. Even our newest and youngest member Beth was dressed, most appropriately, as a student! Robyn, the guidance counselor, presented the outline of “courses” for the fall and Transpitt will have an exciting and fun-filled year ahead. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The Miss Tri-State Pageant will be held on Sunday, October 19 at the Holiday Inn on McKnight Road. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door for this fabulous evening full of talented and beautiful female illusionists. Kate Bornstein, nationally known transgendered speaker and performer will be featured. The location is the Holiday Inn Express, located in Oakland near the Soldiers and Sailors Hall. Transpitt members are encouraged to attend or help volunteer. That Sunday will be the Transgender Day of Remembrance memorial service. More details to follow in our next bulletin! Good News! Plan now to wear something appropriate like a wedding gown, bridesmaids dresses, mother or father of the bride or something summery as guest of the family. Bring your cameras and enjoy the festivities. Special desserts and baked goods will be served! 5/14/05 - Transpitt May Meeting: Guest Speaker: Jennifer Steel, Ph.D. We are pleased to welcome Jennifer Steel, Ph.D., and a recent newcomer to the Pittsburgh area and our transgender community. Previously, Jennifer had worked in New York City with transgendered youth and will present a program about this most interesting subject. Currently, her work at the University of Pittsburgh is in the field of cancer-related HIV. There will be a question and answer period after her presentation. We also will be welcoming members of PTSG to this meeting. This night will also be our second session of the very popular ID card for Transpitt members. If you missed the first session, this may be your last opportunity until the fall. 4/9/05 - Transpitt April Meeting: The Cotillion It was an evening of sophisticated charm and grace, style and elegance. The Transpitt Cotillion is a formal event that gives members the chance to wear a fancy ball gown, prom, cocktail or tea length dress. A catered sit-down dinner is the centerpiece of this festive evening. Dinner selections were Turkey or Ham and the cost was $15.00 per person. 3/12/05 - Transpitt March Meeting: Ms. Nikki's Lady Luck Casino Night It was a night of glamour and glitz, friendship and socializing! Of course what would Casino Night be without all your favorite games of chance: Black Jack, Roulette, Craps and the very popular Texas Hold'em Poker! It was all for fun and Transpitt supplied the play money to gamble with. The night had a special Dress-Up Theme: members could come "dressed to the nines" ; cocktail dresses, long gowns, or clubwear. Some members even came dressed as a member of the casino staff! 2/12/05 - Transpitt February Meeting: Double Feature Evening! It was great turnout for our guest vendor, Ginni of Fairbanks Wigs on Route 19 in Wexford. Ginni has been a great help to some of our girls with wig purchases, wig styling and accessories. She formerly was with Pat's Wigs and has served the TG community for some time. Ginni shared her knowledge of wigs and wig care, handed out free samples and brought a large sampling of her inventory for us to try on. A lot of the girls volunteered to try out different styles and get a better idea of what they look good in. Ginni stayed busy right up until closing time! Ginni was even kind enough to offer a 20% discount on any wig purchased at the meeting, and a 10% discount on any wig purchased two weeks after the meeting! The second part of our evening was a photo session for our Transpitt photo ID card which may come in handy if you are ever in need of a document to address your crossdressing to the authorities. This was a free service from Transpitt to our members. 2/26/05 - Mardi Gras Party at Blue Moon! Donna organed a Mardi Gras Party at the Blue Moon on Saturday, February 26. It was a Pot Luck Buffet in which people brought hot items that fed 4-5 people or desserts, veggie or cheese trays, chips and dips! The fun started around 8:00 PM and lasted through the night. Donna even passed out beaded necklaces to celebrate Mardi Gras! Thanks to everyone who attended! Despite the snowy weather earlier in the day, the DAX party was held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Club Hot, and was extremely successful. Non-Transpitt members were invited as well, and all types of fetishes were welcome at this party: leather, latex, PVC, rubber, maid costumes, Poof Bunny (that's a petticoat fetish), ultra high heels and boots, Goth, even Anime and Cyborg. Our best turnout ever with more than forty party people wearing their favorite fetish fashions and dancing the night away to our Special guest DJ, Kayla Devine, from Washington, DC. We also were pleased to have as our guests a number of people from outside of the club as well as Pittsburgh Doms Irene Boss and Mistress Mirella were in attendance. The staff of Club Hot was very impressed with our event and we have already schedule the next DAX Party with them, to be in January 2006! It promises to be even better!
